Hot Stone Massage: Uses heated basalt stones to warm tissue into a relaxed state. Strokes are similar to those used with Swedish massage except the therapist has warm stones in their hands. Placement of stones can be done along various points as well to promote relaxation and warm up the tissue. This type of massage gets deeper into the tissue without the pressure.

Deep Tissue Massage: Uses various techniques to manipulate the tissue to determine where there are knots, tension points, and trigger points. This is done by warming up the more superficial layers of tissue to get into the deeper layers. This then will work on underlying causes of some muscle aches and pains. This should be kept at a "hurt so good" feeling and should never be painful.

Swedish Massage: Uses a system of long fluid strokes to promote relaxation. It is the systematic and scientific manipulation of the soft tissues of the body for the purpose of establishing or maintaining good health.

Reflexology: The science that deals with the principle that there are reflex areas in the feet and hands which correspond to all the glands, organs, and parts of the body. This is a unique method of using the thumb and fingers on the reflex areas to help relieve stress, tension, and create balance within the body.

Sports Massage: The application of purposefully timed massage techniques, hydrotherapy protocol, range of motion, flexibility procedures and strength or endurance training principles for athletes in competition and recreational settings. Performed pre-event to warm up and stimulate the muscle tissue making it ready to perform with decreased chance of strains or tears. This is then performed post-event to relax muscles, work out lactic acid, and promote recovery.

Maternity Massage: Uses Swedish massage methods to focus on areas of stress and pressure caused by the shifting body of a pregnant woman. To work the back, the client will be put in side-lying postion or face down on a body cushion. Abdominal work may be helpful to relieve pressure from sides, stomach, and ribs.
Corporate Chair Massage: Bringing relaxation to the office. This is where the therapist comes to the office to perform 10-20 minute chair massage sessions per person. This is very helpful for individuals to have a break from sitting at their desks. This quick rejuvenation allows for a much more productive day.

Body Treatments
Salt Scrubs: Sea Salt is used to exfoliate the skin. Then heated wraps are placed on the skin to allow the body to excrete toxins. This is then removed and lotions are used to moisturize the skin.

1/2 hour salt scrub with a 1/2 hour massage: This is a great combination to exfoliate the body as well as relax away daily tension.

About
Cheryl has been a licensed massage therapist, practicing full time, for over 5 years. She graduated from Onondaga School of Therapeutic Massage in Syracuse, NY in December 2004. Cheryl also has an A.S. degree from Adirondack Community College and a B.A. degree with a major in Psychology and a minor in Wilderness Education from SUNY Potsdam. Her massage techniques have a primary focus on Therapeutic Massage and Deep Tissue Work. Other techniques she offers are Swedish, Myofascial Release, Trigger Point Therapy, Hot Stone Therapy, Maternity Massage, and Reflexology.
